What is the difference between dictation software and speech recognition software?
Dictation software is nothing spectacular: it ensures that your dictation device with all it features can record and play text and save it in a certain format. In contrast, speech recognition software converts spoken words directly into text. To do this it uses pre-assembled sample (vocabulary), which it links to the „things heard“. Subsequently a text is created. This all runs fast in the background so that you can see it during dictation on screen.

Can I continue using my dictation device for dictation with dns.comfort and pass the dictation on for transcription with footpedal?
Of course you can use our product as software just for dictating, without speech recognition. In this case everything stays as it was – but your software will run more stable and will be more comfortable to use. The product for your will be in this case dns.comfort.basic workflow PLUS.

Can I use different dns.comfort-types in one system?
Yes, all network-compatible.
Scenario 1: all users should work in one system.
The dns.comfort-server service can handle two types of licenses:
dns.comfort.net PLUS, dns.comfort.basic workflow PLUS, dns.comfort.pro workflow.
Scenario 2: The users should work as groups in separate systems.
For this any number of instances of our server service can be installed on a server and administered separately. Alternatively, several servers can be used.
